Faldaro

The DocuSign PowerForms alternative for signatures inside the intake

PowerForms are genuinely good at what they are for: a reusable signing link made from a DocuSign template, where people you do not know in advance enter their own details and sign — waivers, registrations, consent forms — inside an e-signature platform many organizations already trust. If the signature is the whole job, they may well be the right choice. Teams come here when the signature is one step of an intake that also asks questions, calculates, gets reviewed and ends in a decision.

The usual triggers

Three reasons people search for this page

Not adjectives — each one is a difference in mechanism, and each is checkable in behaviour before you commit anything.

  • The signature is one step

A PowerForm makes a signing ceremony self-service. Most intake needs more around it: questions that branch, a calculated figure, a review, a decision, a letter. In Faldaro the form, the workflow and the signature are one record — the signature request is an action on entering a state, and its outcome is a value the next transition can wait on.

  • What was signed stays provable

When the request is sent, the document is rendered once from the submission, stored and fingerprinted with SHA-256; the signer reviews those exact bytes. Before the signed copy is assembled the platform re-checks the fingerprint, and refuses to certify if it no longer matches — a certificate over different bytes would be a lie.

  • The data is the record

The answers are not fields riding inside an envelope to be extracted later. They are the submission: validated, calculated on the server, reportable, exportable and searchable from the moment they arrive — and the signed PDF lands on the same record’s Documents tab.

Every detail of the evidence trail is in the e-signatures guide; the documents that get signed are on the documents and payments page.

Self-service, end to end

From a stranger’s first click to a signed copy

The same no-login start a PowerForm gives you, with the rest of the intake built around it.

  1. 1 A public link, not a login

Publish the form and share its link. The link carries an unguessable token, so anyone with it can start — and nobody can walk the range. Rotate it to revoke.

  2. 2 The submitter fills it in

Branching questions, file uploads and calculated values, validated on the server. A signature field captures a drawn signature as part of submitting, on every plan.

  3. 3 The workflow asks for signatures

On entering a state such as Awaiting signature, a request goes to the submitter’s own address — or to any email field, the assignee, or each address in a list. Each signer gets their own link and their own evidence trail.

A transition can then require signature_status to be signed before the record moves on — a value written by the server alone, so a submitter cannot sign for themselves. See how moves are gated on the workflows page.

Choosing honestly

When a PowerForm is still the better tool

The fit is a question of shape, not quality.

  • Stay with PowerForms when

the whole job is getting a known document signed, your organization already standardizes on DocuSign for agreements, or the document needs certificate-based digital signing — which Faldaro does not offer.

  • Move the intake to Faldaro when

the signature follows questions that branch and calculate, someone has to review before anyone signs, the outcome decides what happens next, and the whole story has to be readable from one record months later.

Fair questions

Is a Faldaro signature legally binding?

It is a standard electronic signature with a recorded evidence trail — the signer’s stated name, the drawn signature, the consent wording as shown, timestamps and IP address, and a certificate page stating the document’s fingerprint. That is the kind most business paperwork runs on. It is not a certificate-based digital signature (eIDAS “qualified” signing), and Faldaro does not verify identity beyond control of the mailbox the request went to. Whether that suffices for a given document is a question for your own counsel.

Can the signer be someone we do not know in advance?

Yes — that is the self-service case. The person who fills in the public form gives their email address, and the workflow’s signature request can be addressed to that field, so the stranger who started the intake is the one asked to sign.

Can several people sign?

Yes. Each recipient gets their own request and link. The record’s signature status reads signed only when everyone asked has signed; one refusal reads declined; cancelled and expired requests drop out, so a mis-addressed request never holds the workflow hostage.

Which plans include it?

The signature field is on every plan. Signature requests with the frozen document and certificate are on Team and above, and are not metered separately — the pricing page lists exactly what each tier grants.
