Quote calculator form
A quote calculator form that keeps your pricing private
Applicants answer a few questions and see their price as they type. The price is computed on the server, so the formula never reaches the page and nobody can submit a number of their own. Start from the free insurance quote template and change the rates to yours.
Insurance quote calculator — what the applicant answers
- Business name
- What the business does
- Years in business
- Annual revenue
- Employees
- Liability limit
- Deductible
- Estimated annual premium computed on the server
- Anything the underwriter should know
How it works
A price from the answers, not from the browser
-
Priced as they type
With live evaluation on, the figure updates from the server on every answer — the same engine that prices the submission.
-
Your rates stay private
Visitors see the price, never the formula. Rating logic is not something a public form should hand out.
-
A quote becomes a record
Each request lands with its computed premium, moves through underwriting to quoted and bound, and keeps an audit trail.
More on how formulas work in the formulas guide, and on the insurance side in claims and quotes.
Questions
Quote forms, plainly
Can visitors see how the price is calculated?
No. The formula runs on the server. The public form receives the computed figure and nothing else — the field is marked as computed and the expression behind it is withheld — so a competitor cannot lift your rating by opening the page source.
Can someone change the price before submitting?
No. The server recomputes every figure when the form is submitted and stores its own result alongside the answers, so a price edited in the browser is simply replaced by the real one.
What can the formula do?
Arithmetic, comparisons and a closed set of functions — MAX, MIN, ROUND, ABS, FLOOR, CEIL, plus functions for checkbox groups, tables and blank answers. It never executes code, and every formula is checked when you publish.
Is this only for insurance?
No — the same form prices cleaning jobs, event stalls, memberships, print runs or anything else priced from a few answers. Insurance is the template because it is the case where keeping the rating private matters most.
Can the form take payment for the quoted amount?
Yes. A payment rule collects a Stripe payment priced by the same server-side formula, so the amount charged is the amount computed, never a number the browser sent.
